Artwork+Projects > Objets d’art

These objects dialogue between decorative art, craft, sculpture, painting, drawing, and hobbyist materials. I reference 17th and 18th-century European history - particularly the French Rococo which produced a deluge of exuberant decorative painting, stucco ornamentation, and porcelain objects.
"The “institutionalization of the art/craft distinction remains evident in the relegation of craft objects to the category of decorative arts in museums and their general exclusion from the history of art.” - Elissa Auther, String, Felt, Thread.
